VB A/W 10 ...... better late than never....

So today (sunday) The Sunday Times released 'The Big Fashion Issue' therefore i popped down to the local shops to purchase mine. (God do i feel like an old lady popping to the local shops, my only adventure out today, barr a run .... sort of). I opened it and got like 8 different magazines, all of which pointless and far to high brow for me to read, but the fashion insert was like a beautiful big issue with its matte paper and un-glossy finish. i flicked through, and still yet to read it but then i came across a Victoria Beckham dress. In the feature she deconstructs her favourite piece from the collection explaining the details, colour, fabric and how to wear it.

Now, as my flat mate has just highlighted i am biased as i am a huge fan of the Beckham brand, therefore i am gunna try to write this a professional way and with no slant to my borderline obsession, i also have read no reviews of her collection other than VB's few words i have read today. therefore everything i say is what i feel and not rubbish i have read and decided to regurgitate to you! I think im drawn to VB and her collections naturally because of the elegance of them, my favourite style of clothing is that of evening dresses and ball gowns. Something about the materials, embellishments, ability to drape the fabric and the pure effort and craftsmanship makes me favour these style of garments.

So anyway onto VB, i have just looked through the pictures courtesy of marie claire and do like the collection. OK, so it is an ex spice girl, and she is definitely finding it hard to make her name as a designer, but could this be the break through collections for her? Who knows, i guess we will have to wait and see how sales hold up. However, if being labelled a 'designer' is someone who creates innovative clothes, than i don't think Victoria Beckham can claim that name. But if a designer is someone who can create flawless, wearable, beautiful, inspiring and utterly elegant clothing than VB can without a doubt be called a designer. Her Fall ''10 collection is beautifully made, it shows fantastic lines and silhouettes, all create a sensationally feminine shapes. In her deconstruction of the above dress she says 'This Season, evening wear should skim the floor.' I couldn't agree more, the dress just skims her thighs and you can see the motion of the material from the still image. However this can't be said for all of her dresses as many are knee length.

Colour wise we see the very on trend nudes, as well as her usual black, and eye popping colours including lipstick red, midnight blue and even metallics. One of my favourite piece's is a full length nude dress. It deceivingly looks like a coat that has been drawn across the body with a simple waistband. This creates a stunning open split almost up the full length of the garment, rather seducing it leads the viewers eye to start at the bottom and slowly rise up. There are many pieces in the collection i like, some i love and some i just think 'oh no' but overall she has done a cracking job on it, and will definitely be making a return appearance for S/S 2011, and i for one am throughly looking forward to it.

Well after looking at this it has gone me in an oscars mood, and there is great hype about what will our favourite celebs be wearing on the red carpet! So you can read the next blog to find out, who knows maybe we will see a few VB pieces out there, with Victoria Beckham claiming she will wear the stunning floor length number at the top herself.
